SMITH Architects Brisbane is a small, boutique, experienced architectural design firm in Brisbane QLD, established in 2007 by architect Stewart Smith. We have chosen to stay small to prioritize our clients and dedicate time to the creative process that we engage in on your project.
Stewart has worked across an eclectic range of project types and scales amongst leading architectural practices prior to establishing the independent practice. This experience has provided the tools to offer refined design, construction management, and client collaboration services.
Our practice is supported through established relationships with building and design professionals, including interior and landscape designers, building contractors, engineers, town planners, and building certifiers. These relationships, along with specialized experience, help us achieve our aim of developing unique and successful architecture for our clients.
Stewart and the team at SMITH Architects are in the unique position of delivering direct on-site construction experience into your design, having acted as building contractor and carpenter across a number of projects. This skill base sets a platform for excellent working relationships with the building contractors that SMITH Architects engage for your buildings.
Stewart is registered with the Board of Architects in both QLD and NSW.
While not working on your project, Stewart still enjoys being on construction sites, making and building his own renovations and homes. He also has a passion for climbing mountains, the ocean, snow sports, and finding little coffee shops to spend time with friends.
Stewart’s exposure and observation of diverse cultures and people contribute directly to understanding his clients and finding their richness and individuality. It is this understanding that allows SMITH Architects to deliver beautiful, textured, and unique designs for its clients.
