What is cinematic photography?
Film Noir Photographers have a passion for cinematic photography. This style of photography tells your story through stunning, well framed landscapes. Your photos will look like they’re taken straight from the Silver Screen. An expert combination of natural, flash and artificial light result in striking illumination of the photo.
Cinematic photography will draw the eye to the subject, that’s you, while utilising soft, out of focus areas, called bokeh, to really bring your photo to life. The natural beauty of the Barossa Valley lends itself perfectly to our cinematic photography style, so book an appointment today to see examples of our work and let Film Noir Wedding Photography create the photos you’ve dreamed of.
Get to know us
Building a relationship with your photographer is vital to make your wedding day a success. Jerry Zimmer & Ela Bozek are our photography team, and work in tandem to create beautiful photos of your day. They ensure all perspectives and moments are captured, and work together to enhance and select your final photo suite. Here’s more about the team at Film Noir Wedding Photography:
Ela is a multitalented artist. From teaching art, being a graphic artist and wedding photographer, her eye is always ready to catch the next perfect shot. Her images have a strong emphasis on movement, and her preference for using wide lenses allows her be up close and personal with her subject – making for a more natural and intimate experience for the bride and groom.
She loves camping, snorkeling at Noarlunga Beach and taking a swim at any of Adelaide’s beautiful beaches. Ela is originally from Poland, married her husband Sebastian in Los Angeles, and moved to Australia with their daughter Zoe. Her love of film composition led her to start Film Noir Wedding Photography with Jerry Zimmer. She enjoys working with Jerry due to their complementary cinematic styles and their ability to collaborate and create amazing images together.
Cinematography has always been a passion for Jerry. During his 15 years of working in a cinema, he would often see beautifully composed scenes in movies and watch them over and over again. With a clear eye for cinematic techniques, Jerry turned to photography and this style filtered through to his work, with his photos being sequenced similar to a movie.
Jerry loves to capture how a bride or groom naturally relate to each other, without being forced into stiff, awkward poses. He places you in a classic movie scenario, and then simply lets you interact with it. Jerry and Ela created Film Noir Wedding Photography due to their shared love of film, cinematic style and their ability to work in harmony during shoots.
